In line with our commitment to improving student welfare and safety, the UGMSA Executive Team has, over the past few months, engaged the College of Health Sciences leadership and private partners to address the challenge of accessing food and refreshments on campus, particularly during late hours.
We are pleased to announce that five (5) vending machines have been secured, with one already installed at the Charles Easmon building. This initiative is aimed at reducing the need for students to leave campus late in the evening, thereby enhancing safety and convenience.
The vending machine supports both physical cash and Mobile Money (MoMo) payments to ensure ease of access. Members are encouraged to patronize the facility to support the sustainability of this initiative.
Arrangements are underway to install the remaining machines at strategic locations, including the medical hostels and the Basic Sciences area. This intervention will particularly benefit students who utilize the 24-hour reading spaces and those with extended academic schedules.
We express our sincere gratitude to the Provost of the College of Health Sciences and ColdConuts exports for their support and partnership.
UGMSA remains committed to translating advocacy into tangible improvements for our members.
Together, we will keep pushing for better. ?
