The University of Ghana Medical Students' Association (UIMSA) operates through eight (8) main functional organs:
1. Executive Board: The Governing body comprising of 8 elected officers:
2. General Assembly: The highest legislative body of the Association. Includes delegates from the Executive Board, Block Executives, and Class Presidents. They are responsible for discussing student welfare, approving budget and overseeing the Executive Board.
3. Executive Council: An advisory body comprising of the the President, the General Secretary, Chairperson of the Council of Class Presidents and Vice-Presidents, Immediate Past President, Immediate Past General Secretary, Chairperson of the Judicial committee, representative of the Welfare Committee, a representative of the Block executives.
4. Block Executives: The Block Executives manage hostel affairs and coordinate with the UGMSA Executive Board
5. Council of Class Presidents: The Class Presidents are responsible for academic and student concerns across classes.
