FROM THE AG. DEAN, UGMS.

I bring you warm greetings from the office of the Dean to all you members of the University of Ghana Medical School Association.

The UGMSA is a cornerstone of our medical school because it fosters an environment for members to augment what they are taught in class in order to excel academically. You also embark on programmes and activities that promote compassion, volunteerism and emotional support for one another. Your association is therefore an important part of the UGMS. It is through your collective efforts that we continue, as the nation’s premiere university, to elevate the standards of medical education and contribute meaningfully to supporting the health needs of all.

As Ag. Dean, I constantly interact with executive and non-executive members of the association and each interaction reminds me of the immense potential that resides within each of you—the future healthcare leaders of tomorrow, some of which were birthed through the association.

I therefore urge all members of UGMSA to take full advantage of the opportunities and activities that the association runs for personal, professional development and networking purposes. Your journey through medical school is not just about mastering clinical skills and medical knowledge but also about learning to work together, support one another and uphold the highest ethical standards. The challenges you will face are many but I am confident that with the strength of community and the spirit of collaboration, you will rise above them. Members must not see their active participation in UGMSA as a waste of time. Rather, create a good balance around it.

As Ag. Dean, I remain committed to providing an environment that nurtures your growth, ensuring that you have access to the resources, mentorship, and guidance necessary to succeed.

I look forward to seeing the incredible contributions each of you will make in the years to come. Let us continue to uphold the values of excellence, integrity, and service that have defined our institution for generations.

Best Regards,

Professor. Yvonne Dei-Adomakoh
Ag. Dean, University of Ghana Medical School.
