UGMSA Week 2025: Sun Mem- From Bump, to Birth and Beyond

The University of Ghana Medical Students’ Association (UGMSA) commenced its 2025 Week Celebration with a comprehensive community health screening on Sunday, April 27, at the Martyrs of Uganda Church in Mamprobi. This year’s theme, “From Bump to Birth and Beyond,” underscores our commitment to maternal and child health, reflecting our dedication to holistic community well-being.

In partnership with the church and local stakeholders, UGMSA mobilized a team of medical students and professionals to provide free health services to over 500 parishioners and residents. The screening encompassed a range of services, including:

 • Blood Pressure Monitoring

 • Blood Glucose Testing

 • Hepatitis B Screening

 • Vision Assessment

 • Dental Examinations

 • Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Evaluations

Participants requiring further medical attention were promptly referred to appropriate healthcare facilities, ensuring continuity of care.

The event was graced by the presence of Hon. Alfred Oko Vanderpuije, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency, whose support and engagement highlighted the importance of community health initiatives.
